Snake Eel

This reclusive fish has no fins. It crawls through the sand at night looking for food. During the day, it burrows under the sand to remain hidden. Often mistaken for a sea snake, this critter is easy to approach once discovered, and easy to photograph with a standard lens. Its about 1 to 2.5' in length.
