Surgeonfish Found on most of the shallow reefs, this fish has a spine at the base of the tail that is as sharp as the surgeon's scalpel. It is used as a defense mechanism. It is difficult to get close to so its best photographed with a 60 or 105 lens. It is easier to shoot at night.
